Original Swissair Poster by Jean Walther (1910 – 1968) from Vaud, issued in 1937. The sectional drawing was intended to emphasize the comfort in the interior of the new DC-3, which Swissair had just put into service. Probably printed in the USA on behalf of the Douglas Aircraft Company, which built the DC-3 in California from 1935 and offered it in Europe from 1936.

The name of the airline was imprinted according to demand and buyer; examples for KLM, the Romanian Lares or the Swedish ABA are also known. With the exception of the Swissair edition, however, all these posters were published as brochures – i.e. with a number of folds and descriptive texts on the back.
