Original Travel Poster, designed in 1952 by Daniele Buzzi, the Ticino poster designer par excellence, which he created on behalf of the private Lugano Promotion Association to advertise excursions to or vacations in Lugano. However, it is not the city that serves as a lure, but the picturesque scene of a fisherman sailing out onto Lake Lugano against the backdrop of the equally picturesque village of Gandria, with Lugano’s local mountain, San Salvatore, shining in the dawn light in the background. The fact that Buzzi has made it a little higher and narrower here must be written off as artistic license.
