A photomontage – consisting of photos of the Gotthard road and the Bernina massif – in which Herbert Matter paid no attention to the correct perspective and thus broke new ground. An icon of Swiss poster design, it was commissioned by the Swiss tourism board to promote Switzerland (and its excellent road network including magnificent panoramas) as a vacation destination. In addition, excellently preserved and practically without the frequent loss of color along the creases, which can hardly be prevented due to the particularly thin paper used for gravure prints.
