In early 1910, when Louis Blériot's flight across the English Channel was not even six months in the past, that aviation meeting took place in Colombier, in the canton of Neuchâtel, which is considered the first Swiss air show ever, giving the general public the opportunity to get an impression of the novel (if not suspicious) flying machines. The canton of Neuchâtel, which had organized the meeting, must have considered the whole thing quite important, otherwise it would not have promoted the event with posters as well. In fact, 8,000 people are said to have been on site on the first day alone—though they were rather disappointed due to unfavorable weather: more than a few hops by the Geneva and French pilots to a maximum height of 15 meters were not possible.

Which changes nothing about the fact that with this – incidentally excellently preserved – original poster, a witness to the beginnings of Swiss aviation can be acquired, such as, to our knowledge, has never been on the market before.
