Original poster, designed in 1948 by Walter Mahrer to draw attention to the new—and, above all, longer—concrete runway at Geneva Airport, which ushered in the era of intercontinental flights in Switzerland; Swissair, for example, flew across the Atlantic to North America for the first time that same year. At that time, Zurich Airport was still located in Dübendorf—the Kloten site did not begin operations until the summer of 1950.
