One of the most coveted Swiss ski posters ever—designed by Alex Walter Diggelmann for the Gstaad tourist office, founded in 1906, which, it may be assumed, undoubtedly dictated the precise motif, unusual as it was: Namely, for those guests in the Saanenmöser ski area (at the mountain pass between Zweisimmen and Saanen) who found the climb to the Hornberg using climbing skins too arduous, trucks converted specifically into tracked vehicles were provided starting in 1934 to replace horse-drawn sleighs—a service so costly that they quickly rushed to invest in a modern sled cableway (the so-called Funi), which then went into operation in 1937. This construction consisted of two sleds attached to a wire rope; as one traveled downhill, powered by an engine, it pulled the other uphill.
