One of the extremely rare old original posters from Swiss soccer clubs—here is an example promoting FC Basel, founded in 1893, printed around 1910 as a lithograph in Basel; it simply wasn’t—and isn’t—common practice to use posters to promote (sports) clubs themselves. As a result, we know of only one other poster that promotes FC Basel. We are not aware of a single poster from clubs such as FC Zurich or the Grasshopper Club that is even remotely as early as this one.
