Original Swiss travel poster by Italian artist Enrico Buffetti, promoting the Seetal Railway around 1905. Opened in 1883, it ran along Lake Hallwil and Lake Baldegg, connecting Emmenbrücke in the canton of Lucerne in the south with Lenzburg in the canton of Aargau in the north. Designed entirely in the Art Nouveau tradition, the original poster shows Lake Hallwil at its best, with a train pulled by a steam locomotive, and the route map of the Seetal Railway below.

Almost nothing is known about Buffetti—at least to us. However, the fact that he designed several other posters printed by Trüb in Aarau suggests that he was employed as a draftsman at the printing company for some time during his grand tour of Europe.
