Just about everyone who visits Switzerland even occasionally has the Swiss graphic designer Hans Hartmann in mind: In 1972, he designed the dynamic SBB logo with the two arrows emerging from the Swiss cross.
Already ten years earlier, the SBB entrusted him with the design of a poster intended to establish in the public consciousness the achievements of the cargo division, which had previously received much less attention. His bold, technically cool, and precisely executed detail of a freight car with the steel wheel as an eye-catcher conveys what needs to be conveyed: solid, unshakable reliability.
