Switzerland: Great Places for Road Trips

A photomontage – consisting of photos of the Gotthard Pass and the Bernina Massif – in which Herbert Matter disregarded correct perspective, thereby breaking new ground. An icon of Swiss poster design, commissioned by the former Swiss National Tourist Office to promote Switzerland (and its excellent road network including magnificent panoramas) as a holiday destination. Furthermore, it is exceptionally well-preserved and virtually free of the frequent loss of color along the creases, which is almost impossible to prevent due to the particularly thin paper used in rotogravure printing.
