Between 1930 and 1960, the Zug-born Martin Peikert (1901 – 1975) designed countless posters for holiday destinations that were as charming as they were atmospheric – making him one of Switzerland's most popular commercial graphic artists in the field of tourism. His designs convey an immense lightness and an irrepressible joy of life without repeating themselves, even when he frequently used motifs featuring children or young women in his designs. Accordingly, Peikert's posters are exceptionally popular.
