Original poster from the pioneering series of twenty posters, which Emil Schulthess and Hans Frei designed in 1971 using motifs captured by Georg Gerster from the air for Swissair.
Groundbreaking because the posters brought the world closer to the average citizen, who could not have imagined ever boarding an airplane. With motifs that were unusual, on the one hand naturally thanks to the bird’s perspective – which was actually close, but no one dared to do it before – but also documenting the enormous diversity of the planet. All in all, the series developed into an enormously effective image campaign that ended up being displayed in countless schools.
