The idea of using a bright red, towering ski as a metaphor for a mountain is not only quite imaginative – the winter resort advertised in this way simply has to be top-notch. In this respect, it is an ideally executed advertising message in bold colors for long-distance impact and thus an extraordinarily successful original poster that also puts you in a good mood simply thanks to the many lovingly drawn details.
Designed in 1956 by Donald Brun for the local tourist association to present Davos as a fully equipped health and holiday resort that had more to offer than just the Parsenn funicular to the Weissfluhjoch, which had already opened in the early 1930s: construction began in 1954 on the cable car from Davos Platz to the other side of the valley to the Ischalp, which opened up the slopes of Brämabüel and Jakobshorn.
