Following the success of the Swiss Federal Railways’ publicity service with Eric Hermès’ Bonvivant enjoying his après-ski cigarette, the SBB commissioned a second motif from the Geneva-based artist in 1938 – which, although issued two years later, is even rarer today.
However, it is also highly sought after because the man fastening his ski clearly embodies the essence of winter sports. Rare and precious.
