At the end of the 50s Müller-Brockmann takes a further step towards graphic reduction that results in this seminal Original Poster issued by the Zurich Museum of Arts and Crafts on the occasion of its exhibition on the impact of movies – one of his two or three most acclaimed and best-known creations.
Focusing on a purely typographical solution to keep the design as simple as possible and on a well-proportioned layout based on the golden section, Müller-Brockmann manages to additionally evoke the impression of the cinematic moment of moving pictures just by overlapping the two main words.
