Original Poster from the Belle Époque advertising the third Swiss Automobile, Bicycle, and Motorboat Exhibition, which took place in Zurich’s old Tonhalle (visible in the background, with its two distinctive turrets). The first two motor shows took place in Geneva in 1905 and 1906 – where the annual exhibition then returned in the 1920s, before coming to a definitive end in 2024.

In 1907, nearly 130 exhibitors participated in total – though manufacturers of trucks, rubber tires, gears, castings, etc., were also admitted. Nevertheless, quite a few Swiss car brands were present at the time, before the market’s limited size and the significantly more cost-effective foreign manufacturers put an end to them. Voilà a few examples: Turicum from Uster | Martini from St. Blaise | Stella from Geneva | Ajax from Zurich | Wollishofen Automobile Factory | Piccard, Pictet & Co. (PicPic) from Geneva | Tribelhorn from Feldbach (with electrically powered models) …
