Very convincing if not even glamorous Original Poster designed on behalt of the short-lived Bernese airline Alpar by Alfred Cardinaux, the nephew of Emil Cardinaux, with which the 1929 founded Alpar drew attention to its sightseeing flights over Switzerland. It is somewhat surprising that the Bernese also had an English version printed, as from 1936 they only operated scheduled flights between Bern and other Swiss cities.
During the Second World War, there were hardly any more flights due to a lack of fuel, and as the government was against competing Swiss airlines anyway – this was also the background to the merger of Balair from Basel and Ad Astra from Zurich to form Swissair in 1931 –, Alpar was liquidated again in 1949.
