A richly decorated elephant against a jade-colored background, a dignitary with a turban on his back: for the target audience in the western hemisphere at the end of the 1950s (although: probably still today) the epitome of India; accordingly, the Basel commercial artist Donald Brun placed the animal, sacred in Hinduism, at the center of his design, which Swissair used from 1958 to advertise its DC-7 connections to India.
