Original Vintage Poster created by the Swiss avant-garde artist Arnold Brügger (1888 – 1975) from Meiringen to mark the completion of the hydroelectric reservoir in the upper Haslital in the Bernese Oberland in 1932. As can be seen, the Unteraar Glacier still reached as far as Lake Grimsel at that time. Construction work is currently underway until 2025 to replace one of the two dam walls.
In the top left-hand corner of the poster is a sticker from the company Orell Füssli Annoncen, which was responsible for displaying posters in SBB stations – which suggests that this poster was prepared for display but, for whatever reason, was never actually displayed.
