Printed around 1905, this is an extremely early (if not the very first) and correspondingly rare Original Poster advertising Swiss ski bindings: Using a Belle Époque design by Gustav Walty from Davos, Jules Sessely-Richardson (owner of a business founded in Geneva in 1837 specializing in tourism and sporting goods) draws attention to his Steel System, which therefore is supposed to be “superior”.
Why he changed his name from Sessely to Sessly remains a mystery; in any case, in 1905, the company was one of the most important Swiss manufacturers in this industry, alongside Richard Staub in Zurich and Dethleffsen & Cie. in Bern.
