Original Poster from 1987 designed by the legendary GGK agency, founded in 1959 by Karl Gerstner, Markus Kutter, and Paul Gredinger in Basel (the agency was also entrusted with updating the corporate identity, which was gradually introduced from 1979 onwards to mark Swissair’s upcoming 50th anniversary), to advertise Swissair’s newly launched direct flights to Atlanta, the headquarters of Coca-Cola in Georgia, USA. The combination of a word mark (Coke) and slogan (OK) for its own purposes (design by Beat Keller, photography by Jürgen Tapprich) was something new in the 1980s and had a distinctly refreshing effect – typical GGK.
