Issued in black and white only, this version in green is a misprint – and therefore likely unique – produced during the printing of a design by Celestino Piatti that he created for the Allgemeine Musikgesellschaft Basel; that’s why there is the logo of the AMG in the upper left corner (thanks to the Plakatsammlung Basel for the hint!)
Hofmann used a photograph by Paul Merkle for his design, created on the occasion of the performance of the classical ballet written 1841 during the open air festival in Basel 1959.
