Splendid (and scarce!) poster announcing the launch of the DC-6B, printed 1951. In the years after the WWII Swissair had severe difficulties to get back on her feet. The company leaders disagreed if they should fly regularly to the United States or not. For the Swiss government direct flights over the North Atlantic were important, so it exerted its authority and bought two DC-6B that the Swissair rented. It was the start of an unparalleled rise – of which this poster is a gorgeous witness.
